This Weekend at Grand Lake - Sept 24, 2026

Goooood Morning!

Fall officially showed up this week, and it brought beautiful weather with it. These cooler mornings feel great. That was a hot summer!

I've been busy behind the scenes building out some new pages on grandlakeliving.com, and I want to tell you about them. The idea is simple: when you need something at the lake, you should be able to find it without digging through 14 Facebook groups. Here's what's new:

🐾 Dog-Friendly Grand Lake (grandlakeliving.com/pets) covers boating with your dog, the heat, fireworks weekends, pet-friendly lodging, a local vet, and boarding for when the pup can't come along.
🛡️ The Grand Lake Insurance Guide (grandlakeliving.com/insurance) walks through the questions worth asking about lake houses, second homes, boats, docks, lifts and golf carts (before you actually need the answer).
⚖️ The Grand Lake Legal Guide (grandlakeliving.com/attorneys) covers estate planning, the "who gets the lake house" conversation, property questions, and local attorneys.
⚓ The Dock Guide (grandlakeliving.com/dock-guide) got a big refresh, including GRDA permits, dock builders, boat lifts, electrical, covers, storage and dock spider control.

And one more housekeeping note: the newsletter now lives at home! The full archive and every new issue are now at grandlakeliving.com/newsletter. Same newsletter, new address. Forward it to a friend who keeps asking you "what's going on at the lake this weekend?"

🚤 This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level: The lake level as of 9 am is 742.4' with minimal release at the dam. Lake temps are starting to drop, now into the low 80s and upper 70s.

⛳ Grove Area Chamber Fall Golf Tournament - The Grove Area Chamber tees off at Patricia Island Country Club this (Thursday!) afternoon with a 1:30 PM shotgun start. Perfect golf weather for it, too.

🎭 "Whatever This Is!" at Grove Playmakers - The Grove Playmakers Theatre is putting on a variety show this weekend, with comedy sketches, musical pieces, and (I'm told) a hot dance number. Shows are Thursday and Friday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM at 121 W. 3rd St. in Grove. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. Call (918) 786-8950 for reservations.

🥕 Farmers' Market on Grove's Downtown Square - Saturday morning from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the square in Grove. Heads up, there's only one more market left this year (October 3), so go stock up while you can.

🪓 Pioneer Days at Har-Ber Village - Har-Ber Village comes alive Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM with costumed interpreters, pioneer skill demonstrations, music, storytelling and activities for the kids. With 70+ historic buildings to wander through, it's a great fall morning out with the family (or a history buff who needs a field trip). 4404 West 20th Road, Grove.

🍽️ Taste of Grand - INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital's big community fundraiser is Saturday at 6:00 PM on the hospital grounds. Local restaurants and vendors bring the food, and every dollar goes back into the community through the hospital's Cancer Fund, People In Need Fund, Townsend Children's Fund and more. Eat well, do good. 900 E 13th St, Grove.

🎃 Piguet's Farm Stand Fall Festival - Piguet's Farm Stand is kicking off fall by turning the stand into a farmers market-style festival with local vendors, food, and family activities. Friday from 5–8 PM brings Pumpkin Paint Night (6–8) and cupcake decorating. Saturday morning from 8 AM–Noon has a free cooking demo (with a free gift!) and kids' crafts, and Saturday evening from 5–8 PM wraps things up with dinner and FREE hayrides. Check their Facebook page for sign-up forms and the vendor list.

🔨 Last Candlewyck Cove Open House - If you've been curious about the Candlewyck Cove Resort auction, Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM is your last open house. Twenty parcels are up for grabs (homes, townhomes, cabins, lots, boat slips) on 7± waterfront acres near Grove, and the live auction is Sunday, October 4 at 3:00 PM. ⛳ Heads Up: SGLC Golf Registration Closes -The South Grand Lake Chamber Charity Golf Tournament is October 2 at The Coves, and the team registration deadline is this Friday, September 25. Register at southgrandlakechamber.org or call Dana Bell at (918) 782-3214.

🦅 Coming Up Next Week - Pelican Festival is October 1–4 at Wolf Creek Park, and the Lake O' the Cherokees Subwatershed Association's free 3' x 3' Challenge native plant workshop is Thursday, October 1 at Northeast Tech in Grove (free plants!). 🍽️ Restaurant News - The Farmhouse is now open in Langley, and The Fire Pit is making the move from Drowning Creek to Grove. They are shooting for opening next weekend. Our House BBQ has closed in Grove… they are looking to reopen - we’ll see. Mooney's is now closed Tuesdays. As always… double check before you head out to your favorite spot… it is a moving target!
